カラヴァッジョ作「悲嘆にくれるマグダラのマリア」
Caravaggio's "Magdalene Grieving"

ロシア軍によるウクライナへの侵攻が続いています。
ウクライナには正教会の信者が多く、マグダラのマリアはとても尊敬されていると聞きました。

聖書によれば、
イエスは捕えられ、男の弟子のほとんどが逃げ出しても、彼女は逃げませんでした。
日曜日の朝早く、マグダラのマリアはイエスの墓に行き、復活したイエスに会ったのです。

対戦車ミサイルを手に勇敢に立つマグダラのマリアの絵があります。
しかし、私は、彼女が泣きながら祈り続ける姿を想像します。

彼女は弱い人ではありませんが、戦士ではないのです。

決して逃げなかったマグダラのマリアの勇気を思い、どうか、共にお祈りください。

Russian troops continue to invade Ukraine.
I heard that there are many Orthodox believers in Ukraine and Mary Magdalene is very respected by them.

The Bible says:
Jesus was arrested and most of Jesus' male disciples fled, but Mary Magdalene did not run away.
Early Sunday morning, she went to the tomb of Jesus and she met the resurrected Jesus.

There are some pictures of Mary Magdalene standing bravely with an anti-tank missile.
But I imagine her who keeps crying and praying.

She was not weak but she was not a warrior.

Let us pray together, following the courage of Mary Magdalene, who never escaped.
